About Tatiana¶
Background¶
My name is Tatiana. I have been practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist for almost 10 years. I first earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology in 2011, and then decided to change career paths, going on to obtain an Associates of Science (AS) degree in Dental Hygiene in 2015. I graduated at the top of my class, achieving high honors and passing the California Dental Hygiene licensing exam with 100%. Leveraging my background in psychology, I am able to build meaningful relationships with my patients to develop tailored strategies that enhance their at-home oral hygiene practices. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and four children, as well as tending to my garden, lifting weights, and checking out the tide pools at the beach.
Current Practice¶
I am currently practicing at a Periodontist office, providing teeth cleanings with the latest technologies including Air Flow, a guided biofilm therapy procedure that uses a spray of warm water, compressed air and a fine powder to remove plaque and polish teeth, and diode laser therapy which is used to disinfect periodontal pockets.
Continuing Education¶
What many people may not know is that we dental hygienists take continuing education courses in order to comply with licensure so we are always up on current best practices, new hygiene techniques, and trends in the dental field. I look forward to sharing with you all the newest in dental hygiene technology and keeping you up to date on the latest studies; please check out the section on oral health education and related blog posts for more.
